Feature Car - Andy's Ford Focus

I used to mountain bike quite a lot with Andy and he was always that little better than me, then we more or less stopped biking at the same time and lost contact with each other. Little did I know Andy had grown a passion for modified cars and got himself a mk1 Focus. When he found out I owned ModifiedNi.com he immediately contacted me and asked me for a feature and after seeing a picture I said no probs!

Me and Dave met Andy at Carryduff shopping centre on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon and when Andy arrived we re-introduced ourselves and decided where to take pics. Although Andy is from Carryduff he didn’t really know anywhere that was suitable so we went for a drive and literally 2 or 3 minutes later we saw the perfect spot; a disused garage that was just crying out to be our backdrop!

Andy positioned the car and tidied up the gorgeous 18” BK 238 chrome rims wrapped in Nankang rubber Dave and I got the ModifiedNi number plates on and we were all set! I stood back just to take everything in that had been done to the car and also the awesome backdrop we had (I will be back here for more features in the future). Anyway I was getting a lot of nice shots but something wasn’t just clicking perfectly, I wanted to get more of the actual garage into the shot so Andy re-positioned the focus into the actual garage and even before I took the next shot I knew it was in a much better position!

As some of you may have noticed, Dave and Andy both have the same 1800 Focus. They were both chatting and Andy has done a fair bit more to the engine than Dave has (so far) but they were swapping ideas and suggestions while I was lying flat on the ground getting some really nice pictures as the sun once again beamed down on us.

I got all the pictures I wanted and sat down on the edge of the kerb and asked for Andys spec list which was a lot longer than I thought it was going to be! He started off by telling me the year and engine size and moving onto the engine mods, interior and after me having to inform him he has Cobra seats and not Sparco (duh Andy) we were more or less finished.

Just as we were about to go I saw some more nice photo opportunities and decided to take another 10 or so pictures. Overall a very nice motor with possibly the best kit for a Focus. A tidy car which well deserved a feature!
